- Vols. 1-8 (1968-1976/77) published as YALE - THEATRE
- THEATER is the publication of the venerable, sometimes controversial, but always interesting Yale School of Drama. Theater's articles very much reflect the social politics of contemporary theater thinkers, artistic directors, and writers. The political perspective is both fascinating and controversial. Each issue contains four to six articles, usually organized around a theme. The editors try to include at least one new "pathbreaking" new play per issue, and some issues contain several. The articles are often illustrated with what are sometimes breathtaking production photographs. Theater is an invaluable part of any serious academic theater journal collection (Katz).
