- Formerly published as EDUCATIONAL THEATRE JOURNAL
- THEATRE JOURNAL is predominantly an academic journal, but the breadth of its articles and reviews would make it a staple in any public library collection addressing the needs of serious theatergoers/students. Each issue contains approximately six articles, a performance review section, and book reviews. The articles are substantial and refereed. They may cover topics from a social or historical point of view, or they may analyze text. Occasionally, the articles will be organized around a central theme. The performance review section contains analytical reviews of, for the most part, American theater productions. Regional theaters and repertory company productions are well covered (Katz).
