- STUDIES IN ART EDUCATION (SAE) publishes articles related to the visual arts which "report empirical, historical, and philosophical research with implications for art education or that explore theoretical and practical aspects of art criticism, artistic growth, curriculum and learning, program evaluation and other educational dimensions of the visual arts." Containing four to six articles in a thematic or open format, the journal seeks to inform and perhaps provoke readers with sections such as "Commentaries" that explore all aspects of education with an artistic slant. Articles also explore current issues in art education. Art educators certainly need access to this journal for both its research value and conceptual articles (Katz).
