- JOURNAL OF STRATEGIC STUDIES is a scholarly publication dedicated to the analysis of military policy from both current and historical perspectives. The four or five fully documented articles found in each issue essentially focus upon twentieth-century topics. Issues have discussed such diverse topics as "Reconsidering Truman's Claim of 'Half a Million American Lives' Saved by the Atomic Bomb," "Australia's Pursuit of Regional Security into the Twenty-first Century," and "The Triumph of Transatlanticism: NATO and the Evolution of European Security after the Cold War." A nice book-review (and occasional video-review) section and a listing, with brief abstracts, of new books round out each issue (Katz).
