- A publication of the American Psychological Association, the JOURNAL OF FAMILY PSYCHOLOGY "is devoted to the study of the family system from multiple perspectives and to the application of psychological methods of inquiry to that end." The new editor, Ross D. Parke, sees the journal as providing a common place for practitioners and researchers to cooperate in "moving forward our understanding of family functioning, prevention of problems, and treatment of difficulties." The emphasis of the journal continues to be empirical research on psychological processes and outcomes (Katz).
