The editorial board has representatives from the disciplines of psychology, social work, primary care medicine, urology, obstetrics and gynecology, endocrinology, rehabilitation medicine and psychiatry. Research topics include improving marriage preparation programs, sexual response in women with spinal cord injuries, sexual attitudes and behaviors of geriatric residents in long-term care facilities, sexual dysfunction induced by antidepressants, drug treatments for sexual disorders, marital therapy for infidelity, gay and lesbian couples therapy and sexual therapy for adults who were sexually abused in childhood. This is a leading journal in the field and it is commonly seen in psychology and social work as well as medical library collections (Katz).
