- Under the auspices of the Linguistics Association of Great Britain, the JOURNAL OF LINGUISTICS is concerned with several branches of linguistics. Its broad scope permits research articles in semantics, phonetics, second-language acquisition, grammar, morphology, and syntax. With a particular emphasis in theoretical linguistics, there is a decided focus on the English language, especially modern contemporary English, although studies of other languages are published (Katz).
