- Although APPLIED ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE is an "artificial intelligence" title, a good deal of the application portion is robotics research. Some recent articles discuss the "soccer robots" for the 1997 RoboCup event (which obviously caught the imagination of robot designers worldwide), but other articles discuss socially intelligent service robots. Much of the rest of the issues involves computer intelligence or modeling intelligence using computers (Katz).
